The New Moon - Cycle of Rebirth

As I write, the Moon has formed a most intimate partnership with the Sun. When this occurs, we are in the midst of the lunar phase known as the New Moon. The feminine and the masculine merge as balanced consciousness. We are endowed with potency of attunement to self and the path we have embarked upon.

During these most auspicious times when seeds of consciousness stir anew, the moon is hidden from view. This begins a 29-day cycle in which we have opportunity to initiate growth in some realm of our being or particular area of our lives. It is a time in which heightened energy is more readily available to us.

The New Moon phase presents opportunity to plant seeds of intention accompanied by reflection upon that which calls for manifestation. We can watch the growth, fruition and completion of whatever we choose throughout the lunar cycle. However, appropriateness of intention is significant to any successful endeavor.

Arriving fully clothed in the sign of Virgo; we are presented with themes of service, work, health and improvement. We are reminded of the sacredness in mundane matters. Feminine consciousness speaks prolifically to us as we resonate ever more closely with the Divinity of Mother Earth.

Prominent archetypal themes for the sign of Virgo include The Servant, The Martyr, The Analyst and The Perfectionist. Where do these themes play out in your life?

As the Sun will remain in Virgo until September 23, there is plenty of time in which to resonate with The Virgin. Keep in mind that while this sign is characterized by purity, the true definition of the word "virgin" is "complete unto oneself."

The beauty of the New Moon is that Jupiter accompanies her! Jupiter on this day has entered Virgo as well.

Wherever we find transiting Jupiter in Virgo in our chart, there is renewed energy for expansion, self-improvement, optimism and most markedly, faith in our process with Life.

As the volatile Mars energy is still upon us for yet another week, the serenity of Virgo serves to temper and soothe. Remain vigilant. Practice unconditional love. Grant a favor. Praise your body. Honor your work. Take care of details. Banish worry. Embrace the process.

One can give nothing whatever without giving oneself---that is to say, risking oneself. If one cannot risk oneself, then one is simply incapable of giving.
