Scorpio New Moon: Facing the Shadow

All of life is cyclic. There are cycles and cycles within cycles. There is Divine order in the cosmos. We are a microcosm of this magnificence. Thus, we are Divine order.

There are countless auspicious moments in which to begin anew. We are presented with opportunity to consciously direct our attention to those realms of the psyche which have been hiding from us, those areas of self which are difficult to fathom. This deeply buried psychic material offers us tremendous occasion for evolution and transformation. Beneath that which we reject within ourselves, lies gold and opulence of buried treasure.

The Sun has completed his journey through Libra and has stepped through the gateway of the dark and liquid milieu of Scorpio. Our collective ego is shifting consciousness from air; intellectual, social, communicative, compromising and relational, to that of water; emotional, mystical, private, intense, and empathic.

Following the Sun's entry into Scorpio, the Moon is close behind. Today they form a sacred union. The marriage of Sun and Moon each month portends birth. We have embarked upon another journey within our psyches. As Sun and Moon emerge into Scorpio, they are joined by Mercury, forming an exquisite trio. Thus, we have an added dimension to the Scorpion task before us.

Essence, emotion and language are submerged. They are diving for authentic power. When they resurface, we may not recognize them.

Each astrological sign expresses within a wide range of potentiality. There is the evolved and light filled manifestation and there is what Jung termed "the shadow" realm of each sign. We are resonating with various levels of expression within our own horoscope. We experience areas of our psyche that flow as well other less tangible aspects of self which remain hidden, and therefore undermining.

Scorpio is the shadow. Darkness is where Scorpio resonates. Scorpio invites us to the underworld providing a chariot of courage. The Scorpion is our guide. Transformation is the destination.
